Client: Kizuna Roastery & Co.
Kizuna Roastery & Co. is a Hong Kong specialty coffee brand sourcing competition-grade beans from award-winning farms and roasting them in a direct-fire roaster calibrated specifically for Hong Kong's water profile. The brief was to design drip bag packaging that communicated the brand's craft credentials and origin-focused philosophy — something that felt considered and tactile on a café shelf rather than generic.
The approach
Designed the full drip bag packaging from print-ready artwork through to dieline specification covering front face illustration direction, typography system, information layout for origin and brewing instructions, and colour treatment across the kraft and forest green palette.

Inspiration
The starting point was the tactile warmth of risograph and letterpress printing, as well as colours that bleed slightly at the edges, textures that feel hand-made rather than output. Also adopting duotone palette, editorial serif type with visible character quirks, botanical imagery treated as texture rather than decoration.
For Kizuna specifically, the botanical engraving tradition of vintage coffee and tea trade labels that connects the product back to its agricultural origin rather than forward to a lifestyle proposition. The forest green and kraft gold came from that same place, colours that suggest soil, roasting and craft without needing to say any of those words explicitly.
